protecting (and unprotecting) your files with password: Autocad and more

Normally, in the project and documentation sector of a company, for transfer, sending or protecting drawings and designs, it is necessary to find a feature to prevent unwanted opening of files.

The most versatile means of protecting files of any nature is the use of passwords. You already know how to enter a password in your Autocad files?

To protect your DWG files through password is very simple:

  • With your file open go to "File" > "Save As".
  • In the new window, click "Tools"> "Security Options", as shown below:

  • Enter your password and password confirmation. Soon! Your file is protected!

But do you know how to delete password from a protected file?? Check below:

  • open your file, entering your password;
  • Inside the Menu "Tools" access "Options";
  • And aba "Open and save", click in "Security Options";
  • Delete the password displayed in the field "Password or phrase to open this drawing"
  • Confirmed, save your drawing and you're done! Your file is unprotected.

  • after installation, select the files you want to protect, right click your mouse, e "add to file".
  • click on the tab "advanced"> "set password"
  • choose your password, confirm and that's it! You will be able to upload your password protected files.
