Normally, in the project and documentation sector of a company, for transfer, sending or protecting drawings and designs, it is necessary to find a feature to prevent unwanted opening of files.
The most versatile means of protecting files of any nature is the use of passwords. You already know how to enter a password in your Autocad files?
To protect your DWG files through password is very simple:
- With your file open go to "File" > "Save As".
- In the new window, click "Tools"> "Security Options", as shown below:
- Enter your password and password confirmation. Soon! Your file is protected!

- open your file, entering your password;
- Inside the Menu "Tools" access "Options";
- And aba "Open and save", click in "Security Options";
- Delete the password displayed in the field "Password or phrase to open this drawing"
- Confirmed, save your drawing and you're done! Your file is unprotected.

- after installation, select the files you want to protect, right click your mouse, e "add to file".
- click on the tab "advanced"> "set password"
