Autodesk Inventor 2018 – What's new

Inventor 2018 is designed for the ever-evolving needs of modern design and professional engineering.

Based on its range of modeling capabilities and powerful project automation tools, the inventor 2018 marks the next step in professional-grade 3D mechanical engineering design. Interoperability enhancements enable distributed, multidisciplinary teams to work together more efficiently with data from a variety of sources. The overall user experience is improved for greater productivity and flexibility in response to direct feedback from customers around the world.

Improvements have been made to many core features that you use every day.. Designing geometry in sketch, multi-body sheet metal parts and part modeling workflows have all been improved. O Inventor 2018 offers performance improvements for large assembly and design workflows. And built-in Model Based Definition has been added to give you the ability to add Geometric Dimensioning and Toleration and 3D Annotations to your models to streamline documentation and enable the use of your 3D designs for manufacturing and quality processes.

Model based definition

Model-Based Definition (MBD), is a powerful new set of tools for adding annotations, GD & T and other manufacturing information directly to a 3D part. Built-in Tolerance Advisor checks the integrity of your tolerance scheme and lists potential issues, errors and other information in the Tolerance Advisor browser. Once your 3D model has MBD and 3D Annotations applied you can recover in your 2D drawing, export to a 3D PDF or STEP AP242.

Sheet metal

Multi sheet metal parts now support unique rules and thicknesses for each body. Multibody rules can be applied to bodies in the browser, or when creating new bodies within the Face dialog, Outline Flanges, Contour Roll e Flange Lofted.

Design Improvements

After selecting an assembly document to place in a drawing, whether the view can display in less than 3 seconds, he will do it. If it takes longer, a preview progress dialog will be displayed. The dialog is the only element you can interact with during the display.

Expanded Interoperability

O Inventor 2018 offers new capabilities for mechanical engineers working with a variety of design data. You can continue to use imported mesh data in your designs and also leverage STL or OBJ files in Inventor 2D drawings. Surface data can be combined with other 3D data in the presentation environment for animations, exploded views and documentation. In addition to external data, the inventor 2018 helps you work with other Autodesk file formats. BIM content workflows enable direct publishing of Revit files (.rfa). DWG Underlay has been enhanced to streamline workflows when integrating your 2D data within 3D designs. AnyCAD has been enhanced to allow Inventor 2018 be compatible with Inventor 2017.

Mesh

Support for displaying and documenting mesh objects is added to drawing views. Mesh objects participate in all display types and can be scaled and annotated.

Shrinkwrap e Shrinkwrap Substitutos

BIM Content

AnyCAD (not available in Inventor LT)

with the inventor 2018, AnyCAD has been expanded to let you leverage Inventor files 2018 in your Inventor designs 2017. This means you can now work with others who are on previous versions of Inventor. or later than the version you are working on. To help you identify the version of an Inventor file, Open dialog now displays version of Inventor. inside.

Getting Started with Inventor 2017, you can reference future versions (most recent) of Inventor assembly and part files in an earlier version of Inventor. For example, you can now reference an Inventor part file 2018 no Inventor 2017.

O Inventor 2018 continues to enhance its core AnyCAD workflows through more robust support of new features you add to non-native Inventor files. After the source file is updated, your Inventor-based assets will be preserved.

DWG Underlay

New DWG Underlay features make working with DWGs faster.

  • Import your DWG file directly into an assembly using the Place Components command.
  • Select multiple DWG files when creating more than one underlying.
  • Open an AutoCAD DWG file directly from the right-click context menu of the Part or Assembly Model Browser node in Inventor.
  • Automatically project certain types of DWG geometry when you enable new application options Sketch Autoproject edges during option curve creation.
  • If Selected DWG Underlay Geometry Is Inside XY Plane, YZ or XZ, the resulting joint is created in the same plane as the sketch, in the same way that a join is created between Inventor 2D geometry.
  • Create a join on the same plane as the sketch in the same way a join is created between 2D Inventor geometry: If the selected DWG Underlay geometry is inside the XY plane, YZ or XZ, the resulting joint is created in the same plane as the sketch.

presentations

The presentation environment in Inventor 2018 now allows surface data support. Your surface files can be included in:

  • window selection
  • component settings
  • Use surfaces to guide the triad

Added in 2017R2: Several edit actions have been added to the timeline to allow for Group selections, Everything Before and After. You can also create a new presentation file directly from the browser from an open assembly.

New and improved workflows and measurement charts

Inventor measurement tools and workflows have been greatly simplified and improved to increase productivity. Now you can:

  • Run all measurement workflows from the new measurement tools panel.
  • Display rich information for each selection with a single click.
  • Easily measure angles and identify measurement selections in the graphics window.

browser tools

Save time with exciting new browser tools.

  • Find things quickly and easily in the current active document with new browser search.
  • In an assembly file, use as filter tools to narrow your search (not available in Inventor LT).
  • Move and snap each tab to your preferred way of working. The following image is an example of a side-by-side snap.

Open Assembly

  • Quickly open Full or Express from the drop-down list dialog box.
  • The Find command moves to the bottom section of the dialog.

parts creation

  • Extrusion: Use the new Distance from Face option in the Extrude dialog box to start an extrusion from a face or workplane with a distance. How Distance from Face Creates a Center Entry Point for Modifying Geometry, no additional steps are needed to make sketches or work plans.

  • chamfer: Now you can create a chamfer that doesn't require a full edge. a new tab, Partial, is added to the Chamfer dialog to support creating partial chamfers.

  • Hole:
    • You can now create a symmetrical hole type that extrudes in two directions. Flip Termination button is replaced by Direction1 and Direction buttons 2. Symmetric distance is only available for the Drilled hole type - Simple Hole - Through All.
    • Now you can specify zero (0) as a value for hole depth in Spotface holes. As a result, you can now place a spotface hole on the termination face of a body.
    • Use the new option, Extend Start, in the Hole dialog to extend the start face of a hole to the first place where it does not intersect the target body. The purpose of extending the start is to remove a fragment resulting from the creation of the hole.

  • Export to PDF:

    • From and To values ​​specified for Sheets in range are no longer session based.
